crying at the truck stop...

Ruby ( i don't know her, but I love her)
Pretty sure I just read THIS BLOG and I've been crying. It's about a little baby who was suffering from a rare liver disease. She died yesterday. The blog documents her life and shows the hope that her parents and those who loved her had for her. I don't know exactly what it is but I just feel so sad, yet I have this sense of hope that I'm very lucky. And also that sweet little Ruby is in a safe place.

I've never really thought about how lucky I am to have such a healthy body. Seriously, I have done so much shit to my body that I should be dead. My liver should be the one that is failing, not a little baby. It had never occurred to me, until ...10 minutes ago, how lucky I truly am.

I'm gonna go cry some more and maybe start giving my liver some love...

And big thanks to my HP for letting me be healthy. I'm a lucky girl, that's for sure.

this is a whiny post: don't read it if you don't want to hear me bitch about stupid shit

Urban Dictionary:

Whiny Bitch18 up6 down
One who complains, moans, bitches, or is an all around annoying dramatic pussy.
Anyone who attends, is affiliated with, or pulls for the university of north carolina at chapel hill. If you fall under this category, you're a whiny little pussy bitch. What a whiny bitch you are...
  • I am beyond tired and I'm getting sick. Graves are kicking my ass. For real. Ugh.
  • My BFF is going out of town. I donno what I'm gonna do. EEk.
  • I was too tired to buff my floors today = no moving furniture in few a few more days.
  • My house is messy. And gross. I need to decorate in a bad way.
  • I need to learn to say "NO". I have too much shit going on sometimes and then I just wanna quit everything. Dumb.
  • I'm sick of facebooking all night, every night...but I'm getting paid to do it so I guess I can shut up about that...
  • My nose is running and my head is pounding. And my throat hurts and I'm a baby.
  • I need a microwave, a couch, a table, chairs, dishes, silverware, tinfoil and a brain. A heart would be cool, too.
  • Speaking of hearts...mine's pretty messed up. I'm in a funk and I just feel sad.
  • I won't be going to school this semester. I'm not happy about that. I really wanted to go back.
  • I don't want to be responsible. It kinda sucks.
I just feel like crawling in a hole right now. Maybe I should sleep and eat and then re-evaluate how I'm really feeling...but for now I just wanna be a pissy bitch. Get over it. ha

first night jitters...

I slept at my new house for the first time (well, the first time that it was actually night time) last night. I'd like to report that I was a big girl and didn't get scared...and that would be a lie. I was terrified.

I got in bed at 2am and about 2 minutes later I got up because I was so scared. I cleaned the kitchen. Like scrubbed the shit out of it. I unpacked some more boxes and I even did a tad bit of decorating. Once 5am rolled around I tried to get back in bed. Still scared, but I stayed there and finally fell asleep when the sun was coming up around 7am.

I slept peacefully until my parents showed up with some things for my new pad and some food. Yum. Thanks M & D. Then I went back to sleep until around 4pm.

I figure that my first night alone in a my new place would be the scariest. I'm working a grave tonight so I won't get to test the theory until tomorrow night to let ya'll know how it goes...Wish me luck!

little joys in life..

My view from the worlds happiest place on earth...
the truck stop!
this pic doesn't do the beautiful sunset justice..boy, was it pretty!

:]

Today has been a good one. I mean, sure, I've had two hours of sleep in the last 50 something hours; I'm sure I've been a real peach today. I got to go play with Lily this morning when I got off work and then I moved into my new house. And by that I mean I took all my shit there and haven't unpacked it yet. Really, I don't have a lot to unpack. Mostly clothes and random shit. I don't have any furniture and it's pretty bare, but I love it.

I jammed to my iPod and danced around in my underwear. That was fun.

When I woke up from my nap I was pretty terrified. I don't remember the last time I was home alone anywhere....I know, I know, grow up. But furreal, I'm a baby. I had to turn on every light...good thing the utilities are included in the rent!

Although there are FOUR dog kennels in the backyard, I was informed that pets are not allowed...wtf? haha. Oh well. I can barely afford myself and my plant so maybe a dog will come later.

Today I bought food for my new place. The only problem is that I forgot I didn't have a microwave OR any pots/pans...or dishes. I got home, starving, and the only thing I could eat was crackers and cheese. Livin' the dream, baby.

Do you ever feel like your life is a dream? Or that you're in a horror film? I do. But really, I'm a crazy betch.

8.05.2011

Today...

  • I wonder where all my money goes...seriously...
  • coffee grosses me out and then i drink it anyway. lots of it. all night long.
  • I feel like I'll never be good enough.
  • giving up seems easier than going through all the BS. But I won't give up.
  • I wonder why the hell I like Snus..Gross! but I love it.
  • I think about how awesome my life is and get really terrified.
  • I forget my past and where I've been. Then I remember it and remember why I'm doing what I'm doing today.
  • if I could hop on a plane right now I would. I'd go anywhere!
  • I get to move into my new house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hooray!
  • I'm gonna try my hardest to get a pet (dog or cat). Dream big, Jill...Dream big.
  • I'm bored at work. Go figure.
  • is Friday! :]
  • I want to sleep all day but that isn't gonna happen.
  • I love water.
  • I hope I don't have to pee in a cup. I hate that.
  • I'm grateful for all the cool peeps in my life. Furreal, ya'll rock.
  • I get to hang out with my beautiful sister Enna
  • I get to spend time with my brothers.
  • I'm gonna go grocery shopping for my new house, yet I have no dishes or any furniture. ha.
  • I'm happy as a bee. Whatever that means.
  • I miss you.
  • I'm scared shitless and I'm gonna do it anyway.
  • I use "I" a lot. I'm a selfish little betch.
  • tanning sounds fun. I shall go.
  • I'm gonna paint my bed. Black. I'll show you when it's done. Maybe...
  • I get to play with Lily. She's cute and fun.
  • I'll be coming back to work. So I'm sure I'll be blogging again. Don't worry.
  • I'm gonna adopt my plant back from my sister. Thanks for taking care of Benny for the last ...year. Pretty sure I got him as a baby and then I ran away so my sister was his foster mom. I get him back today. Finally. It's been quite the journey. Welcome home, Benny Boo boo.
  • I applied at a couple more jobs. Even though I have one. I want more. More more more.
  • I'm rambling. As always.

I almost forgot how much I loved music...wth

Do you ever forget about the things you love? ...or am I just a crazy person?

I almost sold my record player the other day. Why? I'm not sure. I mean sure I need money, but I highly doubt the $75.00 I would have gotten for the record player would have made me nearly as happy as the record player makes me. I'm glad I kept it. Now it's time to name him. The iPod is Jack and the laptop is Frank; I'm drawing a blank for the record player. Any ideas?

I saw my apartment for the first time today and I literally fell in love with it. I had looked at a few places and they were all pretty run down and gross; I did find one other one that I loved but the location was not good in terms of staying sober...ha ha. Right when I walked into my new apartment I loved it. I will post pics as soon as I get them. Yay!

Sorry that I'm obsessed with my new apartment. Don't worry, I'll probably keep talking about it for months...so get used to it! xoxo

8.01.2011

movin' on up...and out

I get to go see my new apartment in the morning. I am stoked! I am going to live alone- for the first time ever. No parents. No sibs. No roomies. No girlfriends.

No one but me.

Needless to say, it's a big step for me. I couldn't be happier about this move and I'm so grateful that the landlords are freaking amazing. Like for real, nicest people...ever! Plus, I don't have to sign a lease or anything. I am pretty lucky to be able to rent from them--thanks to lots of people who helped me get into this place.

That's another thing. Ya know, I've always had a lot of supportive people and lots of people who would do anything to help me and I always took advantage of them. Now that I'm actually working for things and trying to do life on my own, things have been going really well and people have been very generous and have helped me with anything they could. I'm very grateful for everything I have and for all the amazing people in my life! Even my bad days are not bad at all..I've got a great life and I'm very blessed.

Now for the important stuff...like how I'll decorate it..and with what. I don't really have any furniture. And by that I mean I have nothing but a bed. Ha ha. Don't worry, I have a few ideas [thanks to pinterest.com]:
I'll make these someday of cities I've been to...or wanna go to...
I didn't find this on pinterest but I love it! Great [cheap] idea!

Since I can't paint, the walls might look a little something like this...perhaps.

I love this table. I'm gonna make it and it will double as my kitchen/coffee table. Classy, right?

So pretty much I will have a fancy house and I couldn't be more excited! Oh and any donations of junk you don't want will be gladly accepted. :]

just because

Jill and Joey- Cabin 2011
Today I got to spend time with Joey at the cabin; we took pictures to prove it. I love that kid.

it's like having 10 cans of tuna and no can opener...

Don't you hate it when you really want something (tuna) and you have a can of it...but you don't have a can opener?

I'd pay an obscene amount for a can opener right now...

coupons from Joey

Today my family had a little "we're glad you're sober" party. we ate some delicious food and Joey made me a card and included some coupons for me in it. Cool, right? Here's the best part....the coupons are things I can do for him.  They range from taking care of him when he's sick to making him dinner. And ya know, I guess the kid has got it right...I do owe him a shit load of love and I'll "redeem" his coupons any day! I missed a lot of birthdays, special occasions, his prom king experience, dates, and everyday memories with Joey over the last few years. He's always been the one that I could cry to and he would just listen and hug me. Gosh, I love that kid.

Joey and Sof at Prom! Prom King 2011--woot!
I'm pretty lucky to have Joey and I'm glad that I get to enjoy time with him now. Lately we've been "crafting" a lot together-- we paint and shiz...don't worry 'bout it. Thanks Joey for putting life into perspective for me...what would I do without you?!

How can you not love that smile???

I've been up since 6am on Wednesday. It's 6pm on Thursday now. Barf.

I started work last night. Coffee was spilled on my backpack and therefore the backpack was washed for the first time ever...and I've had it since I was a junior in high school. It look wonderful now. I might wash it more often.

I'm too tired to sleep. How does that even really work? Shouldn't I just be able to pass out if I'm so tired? I'm gonna go try to sleep- again.

I'm grateful for all the cool things in my life. Having a job is one of them. Huzzah.

early bird gets the worm while the sober girl gets to enjoy life... :]

Well hello there, fellow bloggers and earthlings. Since getting out of rehab a week and a half ago I've been planning a day to sleep in and so far, it just hasn't fallen into place and I'm oddly okay with it. I wake up before 7am everyday and I actually kind of enjoy it. Weird, I know.

Let me just tell you all the wonderful things I've enjoyed this week before 9am:

On Saturday morning as I was going for a walk there was a bike race going on right outside my door. I walked to the park and watched the race while they blasted some good tunes. I liked that. I would have never found joy in this before...ah, the joys.

On Sunday morning I left my house at 8am with my iPod blasting some wonderful music. I was walking to get breakfast and on the way I saw a bunch of chairs set up at the park so I decided to turn off my music to hear what was going on...sure enough, Sonrise church was having their services at the city park. I stopped, listened to their live band, which was actually very good, and then perhaps joined their church. Maybe I'll go back next week. And most of all, I'm glad I can see the joy of having a higher power these days. How cool.

On Monday I got to watch the 4th of July parade. I don't remember the last time I woke up for and enjoyed a parade. Well, this was the year folks. I had fun with friends and family. Fun day. :)

Every morning I get to enjoy the birds chirping. I never thought I'd enjoy being woken up at 6 or 7am by some birds practically screaming by my window...but I love it! What a cool way to start my day.
One of my most favorite things that I do most every morning is going to the park and sitting at the picnic table and watching everyone else. I've also found that I enjoy journaling a lot more when I'm outside and listening to music. If you ever need me before 8am, come to the city park...I'll be there.

Oh, and I've read two books in the last week and now I'm reading a book about Ghandi. Life is good.

7.08.2011

everything looks perfect from far away...

Today is...another day.
I'm sober.
I'm breathing.
I'm alive.

I guess that means it's a good day.

I don't have anything profound to say...go figure. I hope everyone has a good weekend! :)

7.07.2011

today

i get to see my favorite boy in the whole world today!

go ahead, be jealous.

7.05.2011

life as it is now

Life today is good. Great, actually. I am enjoying the simple things in life: friends, family, and of course, food.

I was able to spend the 4th of July with my sister Anne and my dear friend Corinne and her baby Lily. It was Lily's first birthday yesterday and I'm glad I got to celebrate with her! We went to the parade, the park, had lunch and then later that night watched fireworks and had sparklers. I'm so grateful to have such wonderful people in my life who make each day a new adventure!

Right now I'm going through a period of change. Pretty much everyone and everything in my life is different than it has been before. I miss my old friends and I miss my old home. I miss my old life...

HOWEVER,

I don't remember the last time I woke up in the morning and didn't feel like I wanted to die, either from being hungover or because I really didn't have anything for me. Now I wake up in the morning refreshed and excited to see what the day has to offer me.  I'm grateful for all the things I've learned in the...well, my entire life, but especially the last year or so.

With all the changes in my life that are taking place, I find myself single and flying solo, once again. I miss Jordan and hope she's well. Life is funny like that...but I think that's just how it goes. My life is going in a totally different direction that it was 2 months ago and I'm still shocked everyday by all the people in my life who are cheering for me. Thank you to everyone for all your support and understanding.

Oh, and I'm gonna make this today while I'm "crafting" with Enna. :] Wish me luck!

7.04.2011

Well hello, beautiful world out there...

Hello friends. I'm back. Rehab was...well...rehab. I'm glad to be a tad bit healthier and ready to have some fun.

Check this stuff out: (When I get my own place...here is my inspiration)...I'm just hoping it turns out remotely as cute as all this stuff!

3.24.2011

what's brewin' in the morning at your house?

Most people have routines that they follow each morning before they start their day, right?

Some have their cup of coffee, some eat cereal while reading the newspaper, and others go running. Not me. I head straight to the pot each morning.

Each morning, one of the first things I do, after getting my good morning kiss and hug, I hit the bathroom up to unload. Nothing feels better to start the day off emptied out!

What do you do before you start your day??

2.25.2011

yummm

The joys of having someone know everything about me?

  1. I no longer have butt hair
  2. Every mole and freckle on my body has been inspected
  3. All the "stray" hairs on my body have been identified and plucked
  4. I have blown a booger (unintentionally) on Jordan.
I never thought I'd be quite this comfortable around anyone...

Sorry for the booger on your face, baby. :)

12.23.2010

Goin to Cali

Wooooo! Goin to Cali for Christmas!!! Seeeee ya!

12.21.2010

Oh, holy shit...

Once upon a time there was a girl named Jill. She moved to Las Vegas and moved in with her GF, Jordan. Jill didn't want to be gross, so for the first two weeks that she lived in Las Vegas. Well, as you may have guessed, after two weeks, Jill was FULL of shit. Literally.

Jordan went off to work [for the, I think, first time since I had moved in]; I went straight to the toilet. I sat, strained, pushed, almost fell off the toilet for almost an hour. Nothing. I decided that I'd go lie down and wait. I waited and about twenty minutes later--it was time.

I rushed to the bathroom and pushed one good, lonnnnng push. It hurt a bit but my stomach felt relieved to be empty. It wasn't my biggest poop, but it was comparable. I flushed.

"Oh shit", I thought. The water didn't go down, it rose up until it almost flowed out of the toilet. I looked around for a plunger but I had no such luck. Luckily the water didn't overflow; I just decided to pretend I didn't know what was going on. I would just act like I didn't know why it wouldn't flush. After a few hours, I really did forget that I had clogged the toilet...

____________________________________________________________________________________

Later that night Jordan was getting in the shower, used the bathroom and then flushed the toilet. Well, the toilet started to run over. She called frantically for Amanda to come and help her. Jordan strained her neck to turn the water off; Amanda found the plunger which was under the kitchen sick (WTF...who keeps a toilet plunger under their sink?!...no wonder I couldn't find it!!)

Well, Jordan didn't know how to plunge and neither did Amanda, so Jill to the rescue came along and plunged "Jordan's" mess; everything was taken care of and Jill saved the day.

Jordan, that was my poop clogging the toilet. Oh, yes....love. Isn't it great?! Thanks for taking my blame...and thanks for pooping at the most opportune moment possible. You may resume pooping in our bathroom now. Our toilet isn't defective...I am! :)

i'm the smartest person on earth: part 2

For a link to a similar situation less than a year ago...click here!

If you read my blog, you've read the link posted above. If not, read it.

Well then fast forward about a year. Similar story, but worse since it wasn't the first time I've done this.

Jordan and I drove to Utah for a funeral; weather was nice and we got there fine. As we were about to leave, a blizzard hit Cedar. Darn. I hate snow; Jordan loved it, so we played in it. I decided we could try and drive home. We hopped in the car and tried to take off...but the car wouldn't move! Jordan blamed it on her "Nevada" tires; right as she was getting out into the blizzard to push the car I realized that the emergency brake was on. Not wanting to look stupid, I played along and acted like we were stuck in a patch of snow. After a couple of minutes pushing, I released the brake, Jordan hopped in and we drove around Cedar for 40 minutes and then decided not to go back to Vegas until the next day.

Jordan, I love you and I'm sorry you had to "push" your car out of the snow! xoxo

oh the joys of paper thin walls: part 1

Have you ever lived in an apartment where the walls seem so thin it's like they are non-existent?

Ever have the pleasure of listening to an old, dirty, construction worker, chronically drunk and his mid-40's, cocktail waitress girlfriend have sex but only on the days they aren't threatening the other persons life?

Does this sound like something you'd like? Well then you've come to the right spot, folks! Step right up.

Once upon a time, there lived a not-so-happy-or-functional couple, Jackie and David. [names have not been changed to protect them, as I have not actually met these two in person...only glimpses of their life in which I strain my neck to hear through the walls].

Although tonight was not my first time with Jackie and David, this will be the beginning of there story. Their love/hate/everything in between story. Tonight started out with the bed squeaking. I always get excited when I can hear that old (I'd imagine) bed start rockin'...but tonight it was just Jackie getting in bed while telling dear old David that she "doesn't love him" and that he's a "nasty old pig" (which, I'd agree with).

David won't let up; he usually digs himself a deeper hole in which Jackie uses to her advantage. She tells him he can't sleep in the bed with her. Then he gets mad. She moves to the guest room; the talking gets muffled. We stop listening. Bed squeaks again; we're back into position in order to get the best sound quality. Repeat five times.

Now, usually it ends in make-up sex...my favorite! Not tonight...not yet anyway.

This is the story of David and Jackie, my wall-mates. Every night is a new adventure and I'll be here to update ya'll on the situation. Whether you like it or not...

Until next time. TTFN.

time out! jk about the last post...

After reading my previous post, Jordan felt bad and decided that we should get in the "Christmas spirit"....actually, after I started crying for no apparent reason and had a meltdown, she was very thoughtful and we went and bought lots of Christmas stuff and decorated the entire apartment.

Below are some photos of the stuff we made:

So now I'm in the Christmas spirit and ready for a fun holiday! I love you, Jordan! :)

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, everyone!

12.20.2010

Christmas already?!

Ummmmmm, wow! Christmas already? Well, I guess imma grinch this year but I'm not feelin' it at all! I haven't gotten or made any gifts; I don't have a Christmas tree; nothin! This will also be the first year in...forever that I won't get to see Joey open his presents. I'm glad to be able to spend my first Christmas with Jordan here in Vegas, it'll be fun. :)

So, now I'm going to Christmas pep myself up; merry Christmas and happy holidays!

Facebook: changing the world one wasted second at a time...

Facebook. It's everywhere. People in every generation and county are connected with an online networking site we call Facebook.

I'll be the first to admit that I've been shamelessly addicted to Facebooking...or "Fbooking". I actually have no idea why I love Facebook so much. I think it's mostly out of habit that I continually check it; I don't really give a shit what anyone ate for lunch or where they are vacationing...and if I did care, I'd call and ask them.

I've been Facebook free for about a week now and it hasn't bothered me in the slightest. I mean, sure, I miss having something to do while I wait for Jordan to shower and primp all day but I have started reading in my spare time and I love it much more. I think I've been slightly more productive and most certainly have less drama in my life because of my switch to the Amish lifestyle...I mean, the no Facebook lifestyle!

I dare you to quit Fbooking for a week. You'll like it.

12.17.2010
